| Yep, these are jellyfish! Their latin name is Velella velella but they're more commonly known as sail-by-the-wind jellyfish because of their little sails. -Have a look at my other upload for a closer look. They basically float about on the surface of the water and end up wherever the currents, tides and wind takes them- in this case to a big gathering in a dead end! This was taken on the island of Gozo, there were litrally thousands of them along the coast. |
