Self-catering Cottage in Kenya for £250 a week

Stop Press!: The Cottage has just been booked for the whole of next year and therefore is not available until 2005. There is another property available, at a lesser price, same location, same owner and the pool share still applies. Please read the rest of this article for details on the area and contact Ian for further details.

Self-catering cottage available at £250 per week on Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley 75km north of Nairobi, sleeps up to 4. Owners will transport guests from/to the airport for £100.

On the doorstep of picturesque Hell's Gate National Park and Mount Longonot, (an extinct volcano). Within easy travelling distance of Lake Nakuru National Park and/or The Aberdares.

There are many activities including fishing & boating, climbing Mt. Longonot, exploring Hell's Gate, visiting nearby Crater Lake, (another extinct volcano), and Elsemere, (open to the public), the former home of George & Joy Adamson.

The cottage is situated next to the owner's house overlooking the lake, and includes use of their swimming pool. It's basic but comfortable. Best time to go is January/February, or September/October, - you can expect it to be hot dry & sunny. In September/October the wildebeest migration takes place in the Masai Mara, (about 6 hours drive) - lodges are expensive (over £100 per night for a double room).
